Friends was one of my favorite shows growing up, so much so that I can still recite entire scenes line-for-line! I realized there were actually a TON of medical scenes throughout the series, such as Rachel AND Phoebe giving birth, Ross’ third nipple, and Joey’s kidney stones. Let’s take a look at how accurate these scenes were and see if Friends holds up 20+ years later!
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

Mind you, I was never told why the room filled during my heart exams, due to taquicardia from Chronic Anxiety, but they!

  • It’s so true what he said about the rare condition thing. I had a rare complication with my first pregnancy and luckily I was at the hospital right as it started because I had to do a quick exam that day. I knew something was wrong because every time the nurse came back I felt like there were 2 new people with her, and also I could tell people were whispering looking at me and when we locked eyes they’d say “it’s all good, you’re doing great!” Spoiler alert: I was not doing great at all 😅

  • That last bit from the today show was indeed awkward!!! Lol Also, don't think I would openly flirt with doctor, nurse, or any medical staff at an office. I know that getting too personal with them could jeopardize their career. My mom's a retired school nurse and she always took her job seriously.

  • I have a very rare condition and I have had so many doctors just wander over to me or into the my hospital room to ask questions and whatever else. It is beyond annoying. I think they just want to put it on their resume, “why yes I did meet someone with glycogen storage disease type 2b and I got to (do whatever thing(s) they did). That makes me super special!” I finally had to put “no residents” (curiosity seekers) on my chart, because it got so ridiculous. They are diagnosing more people with it now, because the testing is better. It is a degenerative muscle disease. Cross your fingers that gene therapy for it is developed very soon, I get to use it, and it works; the current treatment doesn’t work for me. I can no longer eat, (newest development, because my swallowing is now so weak food/liquid might end up in lungs), wheelchair, ventilator (or respirator, nobody can tell me the difference; using because lung muscles too weak breath. Hooked up through tracheostomy, recently had to switch types to cuffed, and this type doesn’t allow me to speak), stomach tube (because I need protein 24/7, so my body doesn’t “eat” my muscles for protein, also now also because I can’t eat). I’ve totally said more than I meant to say, I shall stop here.

  • 1:24 "inception" does not mean thing in a thing. They even explained the term in the movie. It's the same as "deception" except it is "in" as in "induced". "Inception" describes the action of inducing an idea. Which the whole movie was about. How did all humanity miss this? I think it's safe that this movie caused a mass deception.

I was freaking out, got him in the car, off to the ER. ER personnel acted like it was no big deal. Just took our health insurance info, nonchalantly asked us to take a seat. By this time his eyes were swelling shut, his lips were very swelled and I was crying. When the doctor saw him he had the nurse start an IV, gave him benedryl shot and a steroid shot and just told him not to eat shellfish.

All because there was one student who was having a horrible time at home (abuse, neglect, and drug addicts for parents) and she wanted to make sure her student was never harmed at school, and eventually home.
