A few weeks ago I reacted to some TikToks and you were quick to point out that I featured one from Dr. Anthony Youn, a new KGworldr who’s been teaching us a lot about Plastic Surgery. I decided to invite Dr. Youn on my channel so we could dive into Google and demystify the practice, from sagging of breast augmentation to the controversy surrounding collagen. I learned a lot, including the fact that there are plastic surgeons who operate on dogs and cats! Maybe it’s time for Bear to get a facelift…
Check out Dr. Youn’s channel here:
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

  • Not exactly a health question, but you should definitely collab with a dentist. Where I live, I work for one of the best dentist and believe he shares some of the same idealogies as you do as to helping patients. There's alot of talk about health, but we also forget that the negligence in our mouth can also affect our health. Dental is underrated.

(I’m a 28K so even buying bras, I have to have them made and they are usually upwards of £80). Edit: just an added note, I haven’t had any augmentation or anything haha

  • I had the option to go to a children’s plastic surgeon who could reshape my ear after taking cartilage out from the back so you couldn’t tell anything had been done hardly unless you touch the back of it, or the general ear nose and throat doctor who wanted to go and make a new hole through the center of my ear that he could not tell my parents rather it would heal properly and he would’ve left the hole open and just seen if it would’ve healed on it’s own or had to do grafts later to close it up. We obviously went with the plastic surgeon and they wrote it to insurance in a way that it wasn’t preformed as a cosmetic procedure but a biopsy so insurance covered the whole procedure which was actually life saving cause I had been in and out of the hospital multiple times in the two years before the surgery done on my ear cause I had fallen into a live Christmas tree back in the fourth grade and surely to my luck a needle broke off in my ear and I broke my foot in the process so we weren’t even aware of the ear until after that had healed. Dr. Taylor at Cincinnati’s children’s hospital saved my life and my ear with the surgery he had done cause the other surgery had a high likelihood of more surgeries to come and a chance of losing 80% or more hearing in my left ear. Plastic surgery sometimes is the way to go

  • My stance in cosmetic surgery (not plastic surgery) is that, if somebody really has issue with a body part and they “fix” it through surgery, and they feel absolutely better about themselves, then why not? I do have an issue with costemic surgery becoming the standard. Young girls that are super insecure about themselves want to achieve that “perfect” Instagram/celebrity/Hollywood look. And what 18 year old is ugly? Most of them are pretty good looking at that age. Everybody is trying to fit in this super narrow picture of beauty and cosmetic surgery is abused for it. Everybody starts looking the same, and often times it’s not even that good or just plain boring. And, trends change, what if the next “look” is totally different? You’re going to change your entire face again? So I really like this Doctor’s stance on it. It’s healthy. Wish for a world were very doctor was like that.

  • I'm having a tummy tuck soon. My rectus abdominis muscles split open from sternum to pelvis during my 1st pregnancy, this condition is known as diastasis recti, and is very common (However, mine is quite severe) . I have done everything I can to non surgically bring my abdominal wall back to a place of good muscle tone and function including physical therapy. Plastic surgery was my last resort, but I am so glad that it's an option for me and that my body will look and more importantly FUNCTION normally again 😊

They are called neuticles. Its a real thing and apparently they still exist. So short answer - yes there’s plastic surgery for dogs and it’s entirely cosmetic. I’m pretty sure the guy swears that it makes the dog feel better about itself.

  • Just thought I’d put this horrible outrage my brother witnessed at the hospital: So pretty much my big brother has a job where he sits in a room with a medicine patient, making sure they don’t try to escape or break free or pull out his tubes or anything like that. He says that most of the time, the nurses who work there are nice to him and the patients he supervises, But there was this one time he saw. Pretty much, he was supervising a patient when suddenly the oxygen level monitor started beeping low. He got nervous. When the nurse walked in, she saw the monitor. My brother expected her to take action to something, but she just slightly shrugged, turned the alarming monitor OFF, AND LEFT THE ROOM WITHOUT A CARE!!!! When she didn’t come back, My big brother was like WHAT THE HECK. He knew this wasn’t normal, so he walked out into the hallway, and called the nearest nurse. He told her what happened, and she started freaking out. Suddenly there was this huge panic of nurses, shuffling around into the room. After a few things done, the patient lived but he had been running out of oxygen. Just absolutely dumb and crazy.

  • I know I'm watching this months later, but I want to talk about cosmetic surgery in animals. I was a Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician. My Ophthalmologist cut a lot of cats and dogs, a lot of them were cosmetic or plastic. 1 case was a Shar Pei who presented for "Poor Navigation/vision" and "rolling in eyelids" (Entropion). She had poor navigation because she had SO MUCH SKIN and SO MANY WRINKLES they were restricting her eyes from opening. Her entropion was so severe, she had recurring ulcers since she was a puppy. We did a literal face lift and brow lift on her in addition to the entropion repair. She recently came back for a follow up and she is navigating normally and has the clearest corneas! It was probably the coolest surgery I have seen.

  • First of all Plastic surgery should be for necessary like accidents or abnormality , not some trend bullshit and second of all most people are getting insecure with their body day by day. If only plastic surgery gives you confident that mean your whole life is fake . Love yourself than you are not going to need any plastic.

  • My dog had plastic surgery for entropion - where the eyelids curl in toward the eye instead of out, and the lashes constantly irritate the eye. I wouldn't be surprised this is the most common "plastic surgery" for dogs (and some breeds it is more common, including Newfies!). There is also an issue in other dogs (especially brachycephalic dogs) where they have stenotic nares and the nostrils are essentially pinched closed, and they cannot effectively breathe, so plastic surgery can help open their airways for better breathing. Wikipedia has great before/after pictures of stenotic nares. That's often done at the same time as sterilization. But people do have a double take when I mention my golden had an eye lift.

He showed signs of it for close to three years and no Doctor was able to figure out what was wrong, until my sister whom she had been living with kept trying to bring him to each doctor ---- finally found a doctor who recognised almost immediately that he had HERPES. He has been taking medication that was made available to him only through a medical grant funding from those who have donated to the continuing research for a possible cure. He has slowed down in the progression, but without side effects. My hopes and prayers are that you can HERPESo contact the Doctor for possible cure if you have HERPES or any relative suffering from the same disease. Here is their contact as follows.

The on call Dr at the Urgent Care we took her to happened to be a plastic surgeon and was able to fix her up so that she had minimal the time she was probably about 10 (maybe even younger), you couldn't see the scar unless you really really looked for it...and now that she's 16, I can't even tell there's scarring and I was there when it happened. I'm sure she can still see it, but nobody would suspect that happened to her... Also, the dog that bit her was a shitzu...not really relevant, but it does support the argument that little dogs are spawns of satan...jkjk, it was just a mean, old, aggressive dog...and it was not put down after the event (like most dogs are) although my parents did have some hard feelings toward that sister forgave him though 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

But mostly Entropion sx is very common as well as cleft palate, elongated soft palate and stenotic nares (for Brachycephalic breeds), skin grafts/flaps, various reconstructions due to cancerous/benign mass removals, and more!
